Mrs. Ann's Amazing Kiddos
Well I had made a post with pictures but lost all of it. So here I go again. Oh, how computers and I have troubles! We have had an exciting few weeks! We had the UCC Rodeo, class pictures and went to the Lazy T Ranch. What a fun, fun time!
In class we have been working on letters: U, V, W, X, Y and Z. The last 2 weeks in May we will review the entire alphabet. We have also been working on numbers 1-10. I have made some creative centers to help learn both numbers and letters. Bible stories have been interesting to the kids. It is amazing how well they listen and remember most of the stories! We have discussed the Talking Donkey, Jesus' Disciples, Parable of the Seeds and this week the Easter story of Jesus. We planted flowers for the Seed Parable. We talked about friendship and how Jesus' disciples were his friends. I have showed them the Resurrection Eggs. It has 12 plastic eggs that describe the story of Jesus' crucifixion and ascension. The love it!
WE had the UCC Rodeo where the kids played barrel racing, rubber band shoot 'em up, and roped the steer. I could see that the parents were enjoying themselves but I did the most!
We also went to the Lazy T Ranch where they got to pet a calf, llama, baby goats and more. They gathered eggs from the hen house and saw baby kittens and bunnies. They were adorable. The biggest hit by far were the farm kittens. The kids would try to pick them up and carry them everywhere. It was so funny! At the end we went on a hay rack ride through the ranch. It was a very fun time!
Coming Events:
Wear Yellow for Tuesday's class - April 19th
Zoo field trip - April 21st
Easter Egg Hunt - April 28th
Graduation/End of the year program - April 28th
Wear Yellow for Wednesday's class - April 27th

Thanks to your children and Mrs. Heather the transition has been incredible! It has all been a tremendous blessing to me! Thank you God! Enjoy the pics if I can upload them! Ha ha! I will try to write maybe one more post before the end of the year. God bless ya all!

Week of April 11-15 Afternoon Class
We had a wonderful and exciting week! Our visit to the Lazy T Ranch was awesome. The students enjoyed many activities such as: listening to cowboy poetry and stories, feeding the goats, gathering eggs from the chicken coup, seeing horses, lamas, and cattle, and going for a hay rack ride.
We continued our great week on Thursday (YELLOW Day). In class we learned about the letter "Xx". We also worked more on our science concepts. Students were able examine the roots of our bean plant and we talked about the different parts of plants and how they grow. Many of caterpillars have created their chrysalis. We are excited to see them become butterflies.

Can you spot our friends wearing YELLOW?

Books, Books, Books Afternoon Class
Books are an important part of our classroom. Everyday students are given the opportunity to listen to stories, explore books on their own, or even help act out a story. The interactions that preschoolers have with books and print set the foundation for them to be avid readers in the future. Below is a listing of books that have been highlighted so far in our classroom. This list will be periodically updated. Many of these can be found in most local libraries.Farm Animals:
The Cow that Went Oink by Bernard Most
Barnyard Banter by Denise Flemming
Cowboys:
How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Mark Teague
How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Mark Teague
Do Cowboys Ride Bikes by Kathy Tucker
Seeds/Plants:
Johnny Appleseed by Christin Ditchfield
Flip, Float, Fly Seeds on the Move by JoAnn Early Macken
Zoo Animals:
Never Shout at the Zoo by Karma Wilson
Week of March 28 - April 1 Afternoon Class
Over the next few weeks our class will concentrate on many science concepts and ideas. We have already started to watch the life cycle of the caterpillar and look forward to seeing beautiful butterflies. Feel free to take a look at our growing caterpillars! Soon we will be learning about plants and seeds and how they grow. Science activities are always fun because students get to experience hands on activities.
